Kale Smoothies, Kate Spade & Cayenne Pepper

Yes, that is what this blog post is about. As many of you know from my post on Saturday, I was sick over the last five days. I'm still not 100%, but I'm wayyyyyy better than I was a few days ago. Man, I was down for the count. They weren't kidding when they said this season was a bad one! Here are a few of the things that kept me going over the weekend - and that are my go to's any time I'm feeling under the weather. #1: This Kale smoothie is amazing - and I don't just drink it when I'm sick! I love this, and was the first to be hesitant before trying it... I mean, it's green. Weird. But GUYS - this is sooooo delicious. Give it a try, and I promise you'll love it!

Ingredients
  • 1 C raw kale, rinsed and rough-chopped
  • 1 C raw baby spinach
  • 1/2 fresh pear
  • 1 banana, frozen
  • About 1 1/2 C almond, soy, or coconut milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 T fresh grated ginger
Instructions
  • Put all the ingredients in the blender, and have at it!
  • You can add ice if you'd like, but I usually just pour this over ice, and I'm a happy, healthy girl.

#2: This tea/home remedy/concoction is based on some pretty simple stuff - part what I grew up on, part some research I've done on homeopathic remedies, and part "this really worked for me so I'm going to keep doing it". In no way shape or form am I saying this will cure you, or you should go make this right now, but it really helped me with congestion and sinus pressure, so I use it often. I simply mix about a teaspoon each of fresh lemon juice, honey, and raw apple cider vinegar with hot boiling water, and add two or three generous pinches of cayenne pepper. It's been working wonders for me, gotta tell ya.

#3: Ummmm my present to myself came on Saturday. I'm in love.
